Kaolin & Silk Tallow Facial Soap Bar

As our skin matures or deals with everyday dryness, it needs a much gentler touch. Standard facial cleansers can feel entirely too harsh, pulling away essential moisture and leaving your skin feeling tight and papery. I created this bar specifically for dry, delicate, or maturing skin that needs an extra layer of comfort during daily washing.

By blending mineral-rich kaolin clay and tussah silk fibers into our 100% grass-fed Ontario beef tallow base, this soap offers an exceptionally mild, cushiony wash. Because tallow's natural fat profile matches our own skin lipids so closely, it cleanses deeply without disturbing your skin barrier. Fine kaolin clay gently lifts away surface impurities without stripping away natural oils, while silk proteins add a luxurious, lotion-like slip to the lather that minimizes friction on delicate skin. Made using our traditional cold-process method, it leaves your face feeling remarkably soft, deeply comforted, and truly clean.

The Maker’s Touch: Adding real silk fibers to cold-process soap gives the lather a unique, velvet-like texture that turns your morning wash into a quiet, luxurious ritual right in your own bathroom.

How To Use

Wet your face with warm water.

Rub the bar between your hands (or onto a soft washcloth) to build up a creamy, lotion-like lather.

Gently massage the lather over your face and neck in circular motions, avoiding your direct eye area.

Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry. Follow immediately with a dab of our Tallow Face & Body Balm to lock in that hydration!

The Nourishing, Saponified Natural Soap Base
(Note: "Saponified" means the oils have been turned into real, gentle soap! On our label, "Sodium" followed by an oil name is just the scientific way of showing that natural oil was used to make our soap.):

The Barrier-Respecting Base

  • Saponified Grass-Fed Ontario Beef Tallow (Sodium Tallowate) – Naturally rich in fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) and nearly identical to our skin's natural oils, helping to cleanse deeply without stripping your moisture barrier.
  • Saponified Olive Oil (Sodium Olivate) – Creates a gentle, deeply hydrating base that keeps skin soft and nourished.
  • Saponified Coconut Oil (Sodium Cocoate) – Adds a gentle cleansing boost and helps whip up a rich, creamy lather.
  • Saponified Shea Butter (Sodium Shea Butterate) – A rich, plant-based butter that conditions and comforts delicate facial skin.
  • Saponified Castor Oil (Sodium Castorate) – Draws moisture to the skin while creating long-lasting, bubbly foam.
  • Saponified Camellia Seed Oil (Sodium Camelliate) – A lightweight, luxurious oil rich in antioxidants that absorbs effortlessly into the skin.

The Silky Additives

  • Kaolin Clay (Kaolin) – A gentle, mineral-rich clay that purifies pores and absorbs excess oil without drying out your skin.
